I am never going to speak to you again. What you said hurt me. I will never forgive you. These statements are from a person who has been hurt. When someone you care about hurts you, you can do one of two things, hold on to the hurt or forgive and move forward.

Although people hurt us, we must forgive them. Forgive means to give up resentment, grunginess, and hatefulness. We must be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God through Christ forgave you.

If we do not forgive others, how do you expect God to forgive you? How do you expect to move forward?

Benefits of forgiving:

Forgiveness is healing

Forgiveness is a choice

Forgiveness is freedom

The Bible says, “Then came Peter to him, and said, Lord, how oft shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? till seven times? Jesus saith unto him, I say not unto thee, Until seven times: but, Until seventy times seven,” (Matthew 18:21-22).

How many times will you forgive your brother?

No one likes rejection. Parents reject children, husbands reject wives, and friends reject each other. Rejection can wound us deeply, and destroy our self-esteem. However, we can count on God when we cannot count on anyone else; he will never reject us. God said he would never leave nor forsake us.

We may reject others because of appearances, financial status, or religious beliefs. However, God said the world hated him, before it hated you, so do not be dismayed.

Let us love, respect, and appreciate one another; not poke fun, tease, or reject our brothers and sisters.

How to handle rejection according to God’s word:

Think positively and focus on God’s truths.

Have confidence in who and whose you are, you were made in God’s image.

Even Jesus was rejected by his own people.

The Bible says, “Be strong and of a good courage, fear not, nor be afraid of them: for the Lord thy God, he it is that doth go with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee,” (Deuteronomy 31:6).

How do you handle rejection?

Britney Samuels is in a single parent home. Her father left her and her mom for another woman. Both are hurting, struggling financially, and yearning for a male influence. Britney’s mom takes a bad situation and turns it into something great. They start their own business, which brings them closer together.

We cannot prevent bad situations from coming into our life, but it is imperative that we learn how to transform them into something positive. The Bible says, “And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are called according to his purpose” (Romans 8:28).

Tips for turning something bad into something great . . .

Focus on God’s promises

Learn from bad situations

Keep a positive attitude

Next time, how will you turn something bad into something great?

John Ceasor’s biological father died when he was small. He grew up not knowing that the man he called “Father” was not his biological dad.

Finding out you are adopted can be devastating. Questions may run through your mind like why me and who am I? It is okay to feel this way, but remember God has a plan for your life. The Bible says, “Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths” (Proverbs 3:5-6).

How to deal with your feelings when you find out you are adopted:

Trust God with all thine heart

Talk about how you feel

Ask questions

How will you help someone who is adopted?

The World of Biblical Times creates alternative forms of biblical learning by visual expressions (comic books) and imagination (cartoons) in the Arts. John Ceasor is one of the biblical characters created. To learn more about John Ceasor and how we can help create a unique way of biblical learning for your organization, visit us at www.theworldofbiblicaltimes.org.

Mariam and Aaron, are happy and unique and do not understand why so much disorder is in their friends lives.

The Bible says, “But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition” (1 Timothy 6:9).

Tips for a solid family foundation:

The love of God

The love family

The love of others

Many family foundations are solid, but some are not. Which is yours?
